Hello and greetings to you all!
After only two people managed to finish the Chef's Challenge at the last meal at Akbar's (you greedy pigs, you...) I thought it'd be time for another meal! Never fear, this year I won't subject you to a formal thing including really uncomfortable shoes or, God forbid, ties.
I thought we could go on Thursday, week 5? (That's the 22nd of May, btw.)
I'm open to suggestions for restaurants. I'd quite fancy going to El Piano, but it's a vegetarian restaurant and I think some of you would rather shrivel and die than to set foot in a place that doesn't sell dead animals. ;D

I'm fencing on Thursday evenings, so I won't be able to go, I'd prefer another day if possible.

You are talking to the kind of people who choose chicken and bacon sandwiches on campus on the basis that they have not one but two dead animals in them...
Having said that, I'm an open-minded and adventurous soul, so I could possible be coerced into going ;-)

I second "anything that isn't Tuesday or Thursday" because of my rehearsals.

So, there you go:
Hello all,
the first full-blown social for the Archery Club this term will consist of us going to a restaurant to have a meal! (Exciting, no?)
This time we're going to Jumbo's, the Chinese buffet on George Hudson Street. Basically it's cheap and there will be as much food as you could possibly hope to eat, ever, so I'm sure we're going to have a good time!;-)
The social will take place on Friday, 23rd of May (week 5). I'm going to book a table for 7 pm, so you can either meet us directly at the restaurant or meet me at Vanbrugh Stalls at 6.16 pm and we can walk there together.
If you're planning on going, could you please let me know because I need to book a table.
I hope to see you all there!
Take care, Fran

I'm always up for a shedload of cheap and greasy MSG-saturated goodness. Count me in.

You know what? I think I can actually go to this one! Count me in please.
Am quite worried about the precision of meeting at Vanbrugh Stalls though - 6.16pm precisely?!

What do you expect? She's German. It's more efficient that way.
(Sorry Fran. Too good to pass up.)

What do you expect? She's German. It's more efficient that way. I was going to say the same. But the way I was going to say it...in my mind it went way over the political correctness line.
