Thought it would be nice to have something that keeps track of people's results - predominantly people from York... Hoping the first entry will be from Smug and Tom with today and tomorrow's results from the Bradford shoot.

Well, Tom came third, with a 1200 on the Sunday, 1183? on Saturday. Ryan got his 1000 star on Saturday (1006), and a decent score on Sunday (980ish). I got two pb's (1243 Sat, 1255 Sun), a six gold end (FINALLY!), and my 1200 star - and still felt I shot badly! Oh, and I finally broke 300 at 90 meters - at the cost of 3 ACE's - and one of them was the final shot of the weekend!

Sounds like a good weekend. Who were on top for recurve? Was it another Dave dominated weekend? And when you have mashed the back of enough of those ACE's, I wouldn't mind giving them a go!

Dave Hunter 1st with a 1235 for Saturday and something pretty similar on Sunday. Know he got 317 for one of his 50m, dammit, I thought I'd got that one... He got all the distance awards except 90m, which I think went to...
Dave Gregson (2nd) on 2402 - 1205 and then 1197, I think.
Me 3rd, 2381 (1181/1200, with a 311 for 2nd 50m which made it all possible) and Paul Jones looked a likely 4th/5th place.
Chris Parkin didn't win the compound, Lynne Pattison picked up anything and everything for ladies compound, and the Ducker clan from Selby did fairly well (including a new Juniors World Record, IIRC)

Well done to Grant for his second place at the English Archery Federation Championships, and his first GMB score! (Of course, this also means that he has managed to reach MB status, and so will be insufferable!).
Additional: In order to make him even more insufferable, he has got 4 Yorkshire records as well! (For those that are interested - Double and Single FITAs, and Long and Short Metrics!)

Congratulations, nice shooting ;D What were the scores then? Just out of interest... Can you get a short metric record during a fita, I was under the (probably misguided) impression that it had to be on a separate day (ie you could get a record on a 2 day fita, but not from the afternoon of a 1-dayer)?

Thanks for the congrats! I was well pleased with how it went. Scores for the two days for me were: 272 309 314 342. 1237 280 324 326 332. 1262 The second day was frustrating because I had a very silly 1 and a 2 at 90m so I only got 280, when I was shooting to a 300 standard. Either way, the score was GMB so I couldn't really have asked for more. Don't know about Smug's scores. 1222ish and 1227ish...? And the way I understood it was that a long and short metric were just the first and second half of a FITA. I don't know of any tournaments that only shoot 6 dozen. But I could be wrong. Also got my 6-gold end, 1200 Star and 1150 & 1250 English Crosses.

Really nice shooting, well done!!
(thankfully there is Long Mynd which does the fita over 2 days, so the double is Sat-Tues, so my first outing into the competitive world shouldn't be too painful!)

To confirm, yes you can get records on the front and back halves of a FITA. And well done Grant. You got another two FITA's lined up for this season so you can get your GMB badge instead? Ref: Alison Williamson set the Long Metric National records once upon a time during a FITA at Bronte - how's that for close to home?

I might shoot another double FITA this season - not sure yet though. If this is what I've been capable of all along (I know it because I shot this well at the Yorkshires) but just haven't had the weather for it all season, the likelihood of getting weather good enough to shoot two more GMB scores is very small. I think I'll just stick with my MB for now and if the opportunity arises to get GMB, I'll take it, not go searching for it. I think 1325 is going to be difficult to beat for the National Record...

Ah, you'll be fine, just give it another couple of months! Well, we technically have a new club record for the American of 762. Massive increase, as you can tell...

Well, officially I DO have 4 new Yorkshire records, according to Andrew Neal. Will have to wait and see if they are correct first though.
How were the National Flight Champs, Tom and Holly?

I still haven't recieved my FITA star badge from the Bronte double FITA. Any ideas as to what's happened to it?

Ryan - I still haven't got mine from the Scottish Eastern Areas. So shush. You'll get it before Xmas, but GNAS are currently a bit snowed under with claims, so expecting it in a month is pushing it. Flight champs - I got 2nd in sub-60# target compound and can claim a Grand Master badge, Holly won the unlimited conventional flight bow class and gets a Master badge, and we surprised a whole lotta people. Abbeydale Archers York on the 15th - I packed it in after 100 yards. The shooting line changed in altitude by about 8 feet (or more) over the distance required for 8 targets. The amount of faffing you had to do to compensate for this and subsequent cant is insane, the winning score was 1004, 2nd was mid 900s. F**KING NIGHTMARE, I'm never ever ever shooting there again, you should be allowed to claim field classifications on the basis of that slope.
