Well done on the GMB status ;D Tried to go to Deben archers on sunday, only to find a dog show where i thought they were meant to be shooting (i was tempted to nail a few doggies, but thought the better of it...) Drove home only to look on the website and find that Deben shoot BEHIND the Suffolk showground Felt thoroughly pissed off the whole rest of the day. Fortunately they're shooting tomorrow evening, and i'll know where to go this time...

Ryan, you are truly worthy of the NEUAL Ladies Compound trophy

So does flight GMB only need a single status then? Or were there three arrows over that length? How does it work?

Abbeydale Archers York on the 15th - I packed it in after 100 yards. The shooting line changed in altitude by about 8 feet (or more) over the distance required for 8 targets. The amount of faffing you had to do to compensate for this and subsequent cant is insane, the winning score was 1004, 2nd was mid 900s. F**KING NIGHTMARE, I'm never ever ever shooting there again, you should be allowed to claim field classifications on the basis of that slope. Was it windy as well? Last time I shot there (and I agree about the slope - if you are in the right place, it's not too bad, anywhere else...) the wind was blowing right to left at thetarget line and shooting line, and everyones arrows were going right

If anyone is interested, Alison Williamson has made it through to the quarter finals for the ladies archery. Her match can be watched live on BBC website and possibly on BBC1 on the TV. I watched her match this morning - it was very intense and she beat the #5 seed!

Wind at Abbeydale was virtually non-existant. Nothing to get in the way of my shooting besides that slope... and I was on the nasty bit of it. Wish I'd taken the compound, or at least something with a bubble...
Flight classifications - you shoot a single arrow far enough at a record status shoot, and you get the badge. For life. And it's my understanding you can't go back and get them retrospectively (e.g. I cannot now get a Master flight classification). And there only ARE three flight shoots in the year, so it's kinda awkward to do that.

FITA on Sat, York on Sun.
Sat: Alan Wills got GR with 1280ish, Gregson 2nd on 1250ish, Matt Webb 3rd on 1240ish. Me on 1153 came nowhere, but did get the 50m unrewarded distance award for a slightly out of character 311. Danny Clifford: a) lost me a bet and b) got the 70m distance with 314. Nothing hugely special otherwise, Terry Course got GC with 1340ish.
Sun: Matt Webb 1st with 1162? (or 1152), me 2nd with 1123 (would have cleaned first doz at 60 yards if they'd all been on the correct boss), and David Heath The Wonder-Novice (he of the 590 Portsmouth fame) came third with 1104 or something. Other notables: James Keogh 1104. Gents compound went to no-one I can remember, Janet Diccox got LR, and Yorkshire got county team (me, the Diccoxes, and Lez) which resulted in Bob Tonkin accusing me of treachery of the highest order.
And, erm, that's about it.
MB. I rock. ;D

He's with Dragon Archers, but I'm clueless as to where that is. He did 590 at Adel, (or Orrel?) and a 552 FITA at the National Indoor and that was a rather bad day.
Cheers...

Nice work on the MB, Tom! I'll have someone to shoot with at the Masters next year! Is Gregson Yorkshire? If so, that's possibly a new Yorkshire York record. Which means Lez will be severely pissed off... Thinking of trying to shoot the double York in Yorkshire - can't remember when, probably sometime late September and can't remember where either... Could be the NCAS Champs.

What are you on about for York records?
Matt Webb who got the 1160-odd is Essex, Dave Gregson didn't shoot the second day...
