Hello, all, with the annual Christmas meal and committee elections coming up, I was just wondering what kind of non-wintery/Christmas-y food people want to celebrate this momentous occasion with. There's a new (?) Chinese restaurant opposite Jumbo's that looks quite intriguing, but I'm open to alternatives/suggestions, as long as it's not McDonald's.

How about KFC?
Only joking. Akbar's is nice, its a curry place just next to Jumbo's, and has the advantage that you can do the chef's challenge: £10, get a massive curry and a free dessert if you eat it all...
Some people might not want to gorge themselves to overflowing, of course, but then... why are they in the archery club?

Tell you what, I'll pop by there this weekend, have a look at their prices and their food (veggie options?) and them make a booking. ;D

The constitution states that when we have elections, it must be at the Christmas meal. Christmas is apparently a bad time to actually have elections, so we have the "Christmas meal" sometime in the Spring term and a "Winter meal" at Christmas to avoid calling it a Christmas meal and thus being forced to have elections.
It all makes sense. If you're an idiot.

... and you obviously haven't changed the constitution because it will take away all the fun of messing with novices minds.
Why do I get the impression that whomever wrote the constitution was a bit of a nazi?

Just for anyone who doesn't check their emails, this'll be happening on Tuesday week 9.
I'm not really fussy about where it is, but Akbar's sounds good.

I've stopped by Akbar's today, and their menu sounds fantastic! Reasonable prices, too. I'll give them a ring tonight or tomorrow and make a booking. How many people would come, what do you reckon? 10? 15?

I think 15, we always seem to get a pretty good turnout at meals.
