I have come to realise, from various constructive statements made whenever I've shot this last term, that I have essentially forgotten how to shoot.
My technique is currently horrible. Some of the litany of bad habits include - bizzare posture, weird flourish after release, hitting my face, holding my bow after releasing, scrunching of shoulder, odd things I've tried doing to stop myself doing any of the above.
As such, I've come to the conclusion that I need to learn to shoot again. If someone (preferably with good technique like Smug or Andrew!) would be prepared to watch me shoot and give me some help once a week next term I would be eternally grateful. I have nothing to offer but my love though, I'm afraid, and that will be retracted if it scares people...
I'm aware this may not be viable for you busy busy people, so I won't be too surprised if no-one responds, but as it is I really don't know how to make myself better. And I would like to be better. Honestly. Cheers!

I don't suppose you fancy coming to Edinburgh once a week to do the same for me? ;-)

I'm sure mum would love it!
But are you prepared to pay the expenses?

Wish it was as simple as that, but I've tried correcting my bad habits on my own, and I just seem to develop worse ones. I haven't shot properly for so long that I seriously think I've forgotten. All the novices are better than me, in technique and score!

Self coaching is very hard to do - unless you have extremely good body awareness, you don't know what you are doing, so it is hard to correct any mistakes you feel you are making... Much better to get someone to look at you from outside, and get them to correct your technique...
