Hello, all, you are hereby cordially invited the annual Archery Club Christmas Meal! Actually the main purpose of this social is to announce the results of our committe elections - which is also why this is our Christmas meal despite the season, something in the constitution about having elections *before* the Christmal meal. Anyway! The meal will be on Tuesday, week 9, that's the fourth of March. We'll be going to Akbar's which seems to be a really lovely restaurant on George Hudson Street doing curries at very reasonable prices. I've booked a table for 7 pm, so if you like you can either meet us there, or I'll be at Vanbrugh Stalls at 6.15 pm and we can walk there together. If you're planning on going, please reply to this handy thread or drop me a line at fk504@york.ac.uk. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of you there! Take care, Fran

Well, I'll be there. Not sure if I'll meet at Vanbrugh or in town though.

Guess I could turn up, I'm not averse to a curry now and again.

I think I'm gonna have to back out of this one (yet again) - I have a half decent excuse this time: 4000 words to write in 48 hours...

Open exams are not a valid excuse, Owen. In my first year I attended a club meal and the session the following day during my open exam...

Huhm so do the "technical difficulties" on the election process, is the meal date going to change? Hope not, since we don't really need a week for voting (after all there is only one candidate per post ¬¬)

And we can always have another meal/trip to the pub to announce the results.

Open exams are not a valid excuse, Owen. In my first year I attended a club meal and the session the following day during my open exam... I expect you probably did really well as well? I could probably do that were it not for the fact I worry way too much... I suppose it depends on the questions so I wouldn't be able to give a definite answer which is no good to anyone really... I think I'll stay out, but if this, [And we can always have another meal/trip to the pub to announce the results. , goes ahead I will almost certainly be there!
